By the editors · 2 min readEstée Lauder Lauder for Men opens with lemon, galbanum, clary sage, and anise — a bright, aromatic-herbal top that is crisp, slightly bitter, and entirely of its decade. Galbanum provides a dry, resinous-green note; the sage and anise add aromatic complexity that signals a serious masculine composition.

Vetiver, jasmine, lily of the valley, and rose provide the heart: an unusual combination for the masculine register, the vetiver giving dry, earthy depth while the florals add unexpected warmth and lift. The base of sandalwood, oakmoss, amber, vanilla, cedar, patchouli, and musk closes in a rich, deep dry-down with genuine lasting power. A well-crafted masculine of the classic American school.
