The hazelnut is used lightly — more like the idea of roasted warmth than an actual nut — and it grounds the pepper and violet into something more interesting than its flanker status might suggest.
The heart is a white floral ensemble with narcissus doing the most distinctive work: slightly cold, slightly indolic, providing a counterweight to the softer jasmine and rose. Lily of the valley contributes dewy freshness throughout.
The base settles into cedar and amber over musk — clean and warm, extending the dry-down without complicating it. A thoughtful construction, more considered than the name implies.
