Weighted by intensity across 5 accords.

Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readGardenia M. Micallef opens with a burst of creamy white petals laced with soft peach, the fruit providing just enough roundness to keep the gardenia from turning soapy or sharp. It's a gardenia rendered plush rather than waxy, its natural green edge smoothed into something pillowy and slightly sweet.

As it settles, sandalwood and jasmine weave through the gardenia, adding depth without overwhelming its central role. Ylang-ylang contributes a faint banana-like sweetness that some will find lush, others cloying. The white musk and ambergris in the base keep everything close to the skin, clean and almost talc-like in its finish.

This is gardenia for someone who wants the flower recognized immediately but worn softly—more boudoir than garden, more memory than botanical study. It lacks the sharpness of vintage white florals but also their complexity, settling instead into a comfortable, unapologetically feminine space.
