Raspberry, bergamot, and rose open with a sweet-fruity brightness: an atypical oud approach that arrives from a different direction than the Gulf tradition. Cinnamon, pink pepper, and clove provide the promised spice in a balanced accord that reads warm without aggression. Oud, labdanum, and patchouli anchor the base in a rich, resinous dry-down with the oud's characteristic resinous depth at the center. A Western house's genuinely considered approach to a Middle Eastern material — respectful without being reverential.
