By the editors · 2 min readPerception opens on bergamot with a clean, citrus clarity that fades quickly, making way for a rich and complex floral-animalic heart. Tuberose takes centre stage with conviction — narcotic and indolic — while iris pulls in a cool, powdery counterpoint. Patchouli and vetiver add earthiness beneath.
Castoreum in the base gives the composition an unmistakably animalic dimension, pairing with tonka bean's soft warmth. Vanilla and white musk round things out, but the castoreum keeps the drydown from becoming merely sweet. The animalic note is not subtle.
This is a dense, full-bodied fragrance that projects with authority. It suits evening wear in cool conditions, for those comfortable with its bold, skin-like character.
