Opus XIII – Silver Oud
Silver Oud is Amouage's thirteenth Library Collection entry and among its most austere — a composition that asks oud to do the heavy lifting in conversation with a set of deliberately darkened, animalic accords.

Weighted by intensity across 12 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readSilver Oud is Amouage's thirteenth Library Collection entry and among its most austere — a composition that asks oud to do the heavy lifting in conversation with a set of deliberately darkened, animalic accords. Cypriol, patchouli, and virginia cedar open together as a dense, smoky-earthy threshold: no traditional citrus lift, no conventional opening courtesy. The heart pairs oud and Madagascar vanilla in a juxtaposition that defines the fragrance — the oud's woody, leather-tinged darkness meets vanilla's deep sweetness, each amplifying the other's depth rather than softening it. Castoreum and birch in the base add a vintage leather-animalic dryness; guaiac wood carries the composition's structural weight. Uncompromising.
