By the editors · 2 min readLavender, cardamom, and clary sage form a sophisticated aromatic opening, benzoin adding warmth from the first note and pink pepper providing gentle heat. The combination is complex and composed — five top notes in careful balance, none dominating, each contributing to a rich opening that signals the depth to come.
Tonka and vanilla in the heart alongside neroli, jasmine, and iris create an unusual accord: the resinous sweetness of tonka-vanilla softened by neroli's bittersweet citrus-floral and iris's mineral coolness. The heart is dense without being heavy — an Amouage strength.
Seven base notes — sandalwood, vetiver, myrrh, olibanum, cedar, opoponax, and patchouli — build a deeply resinous, multi-layered foundation with exceptional longevity. Each material is perceptible without a single one overwhelming. A contemporary Amouage release at the house's considerable best.
