The scent fingerprint
Weighted by intensity across 6 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readThe opening is immediate and unapologetic: peppercorn heat collides with bright jasmine, creating an oddly compelling tension between spice and white flower. It's jarring at first, this pairing, but the jasmine quickly darkens under the weight of what comes next.
The leather is the heart of it, animalic and smoked rather than supple, supported by guaiac wood's slightly medicinal, resinous quality. This isn't a refined leather jacket—it's rawer, earthier, something closer to tanned hides in a workshop. The civet reinforces this feral undertone without overwhelming, adding warmth and body where ambergris lends a saline mineral quality.
This is Amouage at its most uncompromising. It asks for patience and suits those who appreciate perfumes that refuse to flatter. The vetiver provides an austere, rooty finish that grounds the composition firmly in shadow rather than light. Not for casual wear, but striking when the mood demands something unvarnished.
