By the editors · 2 min readA boozy, atmospheric scent that opens on a generous pour of dark rum cut with the tart snap of black currant. The fruit gives the alcohol a wine-stained, slightly leathery edge from the first breath.
The heart settles into ambergris and iris — the iris cool and powdered, the ambergris salty-mineral — which dries the rum and pulls it from cocktail toward perfumed tincture. The development is slow and quiet rather than evolving in stages.
A soft musk closes the composition, blurring the edges of the rum and keeping the dry-down close to skin. The overall character is a single, vivid idea: a glass of spiced rum left on a powdered iris-strewn dressing table. Distinctive but linear.
