By the editors · 2 min readOud and ambergris open simultaneously, the former delivering a leathery, animalic smoulder while the latter supplies a salty, skin-warmed radiance that keeps the wood from turning dry. Clary sage adds a faint herbal green flash before the heart folds in creamy sandalwood plus a quartet of florals: orris and iris butter the wood with cool, violet-tinged powder, jasmine and ylang-ylang lend sweet, banana-cream lift, and a subdued rose ties the petals together. The base reinstates the opening duet, letting sandalwood’s lactonic sweetness soften oud’s tarry bite and ambergris’s mineral musk linger for hours. Projection stays close but persistent, projecting roughly arm’s-length for the first three hours before settling into a suede-lined skin skin-scent that reads richest in cool weather.
