By the editors · 2 min readA fruit basket spills open on top — pineapple, pear, plum, peach — slicked with bergamot oil so the sweetness reads bright instead of jammy. The opening is loud and obviously hedonic.
Underneath, the fruit warms onto a violet-leaf and freesia bed, more decorative than driving. Within an hour the real subject arrives: a smoky cypriol-and-sandalwood weave that does the work of oud without the medicinal bite, propped up by vanilla and a clean musk.
The overall shape is candied fruit lacquered onto dry, dusky wood. It throws hard for the first two hours, then settles into a sweet-woody trail that sits on the skin without thinning out. Best in cool weather; obvious in warm.
