Mesmerize for Women
Mesmerize opens with a bright apple and bergamot that reads more like a cider note than a traditional citrus — slightly tart, slightly sweet, grounded rather than sharp.

By the editors · 2 min readMesmerize opens with a bright apple and bergamot that reads more like a cider note than a traditional citrus — slightly tart, slightly sweet, grounded rather than sharp. Mandarin adds roundness. The heart is anchored by myrrh, which gives the composition an unusual resinous depth for its era. Iris, heliotrope, and jasmine orbit the myrrh, adding a floral powder that was a hallmark of early-1990s feminines.
The base is a classic oriental construction: oakmoss, sandalwood, amber, and tonka bean. Vanilla smooths the transitions. The result is a formally composed oriental from an era when the major beauty houses were still invested in base-note development. It feels structured rather than casual.
