By the editors · 2 min readPerfumista Avenue opens dark and stewed — plum thick on the tongue, saffron leathery and a little medicinal, nutmeg adding a dry spice rasp. The first minutes read deliberately heavy, almost incense-shop.
The heart pulls in a triumvirate of rose, jasmine and peony, but they're pinned under the spice rather than rising over it; the florals function more as gloss than melody, lending the perfume its lipstick-and-velvet quality.
The base is where the composition unwinds: amber and patchouli build a warm resinous floor, and musk softens the edges into a long, hugged-skin trail. A cool-weather perfume that rewards close range and patience; wears formally without trying.
