By the editors · 2 min readA tuberose perfume that refuses the usual tropical sunlight. Splendida Tubéreuse Mystique opens with a tart blackcurrant accent that immediately darkens the flower, setting a nocturnal tone from the first spray. The tuberose itself arrives stripped of cream and gardenia sweetness, presented instead as a pale, almost skeletal bloom with green edges and a faint medicinal snap.
Myrrh in the base reinforces this shadowed approach, lending resinous depth without turning overtly incense-like. The progression is linear but coherent—the blackcurrant fades but never entirely disappears, leaving the tuberose tinged with fruit acid and myrrh's smoky bitterness throughout the wear.
This is tuberose for cooler weather and quieter moods, closer to a church interior than a hothouse. It suits those who find most white florals too loud or too sunny, offering instead a restrained, almost austere interpretation of the note.
