By the editors · 2 min readGypsy Water opens with a brief citrus brightness—lemon and bergamot—that quickly gives way to something quieter and more compelling. The frankincense arrives early, smoky and resinous, mingling with a pale iris that feels more papery than powdery. This combination creates an odd, almost austere dryness that hovers close to the skin.
As it settles, sandalwood emerges with a woody warmth, softened by amber and a whisper of vanilla that never turns sweet. The vanilla here is restrained, almost skeletal, lending creaminess without obvious dessert qualities. The overall effect is less bohemian campfire than it is the memory of one—faint smoke on clothing, wood ash cooled to grey.
This is a fragrance of contrasts held in careful balance: citrus and incense, clean and smoky, warm and dry. It wears quietly, intimate rather than projecting, and suits those drawn to understated woody scents with an unconventional edge.
