By the editors · 2 min readA short, almost devotional sketch of three ingredients held in close balance. Saffron opens with its dry, leathery warmth — the smell of crushed threads in a hot pan — before damask rose unfolds in the heart, jammy and red rather than dewy. There is no cushioning around it; the rose stays exposed.
The dry-down narrows to atlas cedar, splintery and faintly smoky, which lengthens the saffron's edge and keeps the rose from turning sweet. It reads as a Middle Eastern attar tradition trimmed to its essentials: small, warm, close to the wrist.
