So Nude

So Nude is Costume National's 2012 white floral oriental, and the name is more accurate as a description than a provocation — the composition has a genuine undress-the-flower quality, stripping white florals to their most essential character.

Neroli and cardamom open with citrus warmth and aromatic spice, an unusual but effective pairing that prepares the heart. Tuberose, ylang-ylang, and Damask rose form the central accord: the tuberose creamy and bold, ylang-ylang's heavy tropical sweetness pushing density, rose grounding the combination in classical depth. Sandalwood and patchouli close with deliberately minimal warmth — the composition ending quietly, close to skin. Well-constructed for its size.
