Weighted by intensity across 14 accords.

Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readThe Anthology series assigns each fragrance a Major Arcana card, and La Force — Strength — is built around a precise, austere spice structure. Cinnamon, cardamom, and pimento (allspice, with its complex warm-pepper-clove character) form a rich opening that reads less sweet than many spice-led orientals. Cypress in the heart is the unexpected note: its resinous-woody quality grounds the heliotrope's powdery sweetness and nutmeg's warm spice, introducing a dry, almost medicinal sharpness. Caraway in the base extends that austere character — a note that resists sweetness — before sandalwood and vanilla offer warmth beneath it. A tense, considered composition; the strength it references is controlled, not gregarious.
