By the editors · 2 min readL'Imperatrice Limited Edition takes the original's approachable fruity-floral DNA and introduces an unexpected element in the base: smoke. Strawberry opens with predictable sweetness before giving way to magnolia and damask rose in the heart — the magnolia creamy and lightly watery, the rose providing a classical floral anchor. What changes the composition is the smoke in the base, sitting alongside sandalwood and musk in a way that gives the dry-down an earthy, slightly animalic quality the original never attempted. It's a more interesting fragrance for the addition — the smoke doesn't overwhelm, but it gives the sweet top something to push against.
