By the editors · 2 min readVelvet Exotic Leather is the most baroque entry in the Velvet Collection — Rodrigo Flores-Roux composing a dark, smoky leather with all the resins and balsams turned up. Indian davana leads with its boozy, fruit-and-rum facet, joined by clary sage and hyssop's bitter herbal lift.
The heart is theatrical: a smoke-cured black leather, cinnamon's red heat, fir balsam's piney resin, and Turkish rose to keep the leather civilized. Underneath, frankincense, labdanum, tobacco-tinged cade oil, and styrax build a vast resinous cathedral.
It is not a quiet leather. Cool weather, evening wear, and skin that doesn't mind announcing itself. Longevity is excellent and projection forceful in the first hours.
