By the editors · 2 min readVelvet Vetiver is less a vetiver perfume than a Mediterranean fig built on a vetiver chassis. The opening already centers fig — milky, sweet, faintly green-skinned — with no citrus prelude and no obvious top tier.
Galbanum cuts the sweetness with a sharp resin-green bitterness, and a quiet, dry vetiver appears in the drydown to lift the composition off the skin without ever taking over. The fig is the protagonist; the vetiver is the structural counterweight.
Like most of the early Velvet Collection, the note list is small by design. Best in warm weather, on bare arms — projection stays close, longevity is moderate. Read it as a summer-shade fragrance rather than a vetiver fragrance.
