By the editors · 2 min readPassion for Men opens with a bright lavender-citrus burst that quickly gives way to something warmer and more resinous than its fresh start suggests. The opening has that classic late-eighties clarity—transparent neroli and bergamot—but within minutes, spices begin creeping in from below like smoke under a door.
The heart is where it finds its character: a woody-spice density built on sandalwood and cedar, heated with cinnamon and nutmeg, softened just enough by jasmine to keep it from turning austere. There's a certain thickness here, a richness that feels deliberate rather than heavy.
The base settles into classic oriental territory—tonka, vanilla, and amber wrapped in oakmoss and vetiver. It's sweeter than many fougères of its era but not syrupy, with enough moss and musk to anchor the composition. A scent for someone who appreciates the unapologetic warmth of older masculines, when spice blends didn't have to whisper.
