Rum opens immediately and boldly — not the sweet cocktail variety but something closer to dark, barrel-aged spirit with a dry, slightly scorched edge.

Weighted by intensity across 9 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readRum opens immediately and boldly — not the sweet cocktail variety but something closer to dark, barrel-aged spirit with a dry, slightly scorched edge. It dominates the first act completely.
Olibanum in the heart brings a resinous, smoke-tinged dryness that pushes the composition toward the incense end of the spectrum. Saffron — metallic and faintly leathery — adds texture and complexity without overwhelming the resin.
Amber and benzoin round out the dry-down into something warm and slightly sweet. The overall character is dense, uncompromising, and leans masculine in its construction. Best suited to cool-weather evenings where its intensity can breathe properly.
