By the editors · 2 min readThe Orchid Man opens with black pepper and bergamot — a terse, composed greeting before leather takes over the heart alongside jasmine. It's an unusual pairing: jasmine's indolic sweetness pulled tight by the cool restraint of the leather accord. Frapin, the cognac house, brings that same sense of aged materials and unhurried craft.

Oakmoss, patchouli, and amber in the base anchor it firmly in chypre territory — earthy, slightly animalic, darkening as the hours pass. The sillage is measured and purposeful; this isn't a fragrance that radiates. It's worn close, discovered by the room only when you've already left it. For evenings that don't require explanation.
