By the editors · 2 min readSaffron and thyme crack open metallic and herbal, the spice’s leathery edge immediately tinting the air a rusty orange. A fleshy lily and banana-cream ylang-ylang heart swells underneath, their white petals absorbing the saffron dye so the flower smells like silk soaked in iron-rich tea. Sweet tonka and vanilla pour over this heart, turning the iron into warm, slightly almondy tobacco, while patchouli and oakmoss stake a cool, loamy shadow that keeps the confection from gelling. During the long dry-down the moss recedes and the saffron re-emerges as a dry papery skin scent that radiates a low, intimate hum. Projection stays within arm’s reach for eight hours; the darker vanillic base suits cool autumn nights and subdued formal events.
