By the editors · 2 min readPi Extreme is a strategic departure from the 1998 original, stripping away Pi's signature vanilla sweetness and replacing it with leather and guaiac wood. The opening is a single bergamot note — brief, functional — before leather establishes itself in the heart alongside the dry, slightly oily guaiac.
Benzoin reappears from the original Pi lineage, but here it reads woody and resinous rather than confectionary, reinforced by pine needles that add a cold-forest edge to the dry-down. The result sits in the amber-leather corridor, darker and more austere than its parent, with longevity that reviewers consistently rate as exceptional.
