By the editors · 2 min readAqua Allegoria Winter Delice is among the most seasonal-specific entries in Guerlain's Allegoria catalog — always intended as a bottle of December. Fir and pine in the opening create a cold, fresh forest impression; both notes share a sharp, resinous quality that reads outdoors rather than decorative. Resin in the heart deepens that impression into something warmer and more balsamic, the forest smell moving from needle-crisp to sap-thick. Opoponax — sweet myrrh, with its warm-resinous, slightly spiced depth — joins vanilla and sugar in the base to produce a genuinely delicious dry-down. The transition from piney cold to balsamic sweetness is the fragrance's defining pleasure.
