By the editors · 2 min readL'Homme Idéal Parfum is Delphine Jelk's 2024 darkest take on the line — the bitter-almond and amaretto signature held over from the original, but rebuilt around leather instead of rosewood. The opening is boozy: amaretto and bergamot, almost no fresh top, very little citrus-cologne lift.
Leather emerges in the heart and dominates from there. It's a smooth, conditioned leather rather than birch-tar — paired with patchouli pulling the composition into a chypre slant, and a muted musk holding everything together. The almond stays the through-line, but the sweetness is cut by the leather's bitterness.
Projects strongly for the first two hours, settles to a close-skin leather that lasts ten-plus. Cold-weather formal wear, evening more than day. The richest concentration in the L'Homme Idéal family to date.
