By the editors · 2 min readDrakkar Intense builds from the fougère legacy of the original Drakkar Noir but moves away from the aggressively soapy 1980s register toward something cleaner and more restrained. Rosemary and bergamot open with an herbal brightness, the citrus slightly sweet, the herb slightly resinous.
Lavender in the heart is expected for a Drakkar flanker — clary sage sharpens it, preventing the lavender from going too sweet or too pastoral. The combination reads as an angular aromatic rather than a relaxed one.
The base introduces suede as a modern soft-leather effect alongside moss and patchouli, with vanilla adding warmth. The overall trajectory is from herb to smooth skin-leather — a comfortable masculine arc that makes few demands but wears well. Best in cool weather.
