By the editors · 2 min readCinnamon and cardamom lead with lavender threading cool through the spice, galbanum sharpening the edge so the opening reads bracing rather than warm. The heart narrows: guaiac wood and saffron, dry and slightly leathery, like wood smoke crossed with old paper.
The base goes long and resinous — oakmoss, ambergris, benzoin, vanilla, patchouli, caramel, musk — a wide amber-gourmand bed where the spice from the opening keeps glowing through. It dries dense and slow, the caramel never sugary, the resin never sweet. Built for cold weather and conversations that go past midnight.
