By the editors · 2 min readClary sage opens alone — herbal, slightly musky, faintly tea-like. The opening is short and quietly aromatic, with no citrus or spice to brighten it. The composition starts contemplative rather than energetic.
Tonka bean and iris compose the heart. The pairing is the centerpiece: iris brings cool powder and a metallic-rooty edge; tonka adds warm almond-vanilla underneath. The iris keeps the tonka from going sweet.
Sandalwood and musk form the base. The drydown is creamy and skin-close — sandalwood softening the iris-tonka pair into something plush, musk extending everything quietly. A powdery aromatic-iris with moderate projection and a long, warm finish.
