By the editors · 2 min readIncense and plum open dark and resinous, the fruit’s jammy sweetness briefly tempering the smoldering censer before labdanum folds everything into a leathery amber mass. Moss and guaiac wood add damp earth and splintered bark, while olibanum, opoponax and styrax keep the smoke billowing through the dry-down so that amber never turns creamy. The result is a weighty, almost tarry chypre-amber that stays bitter, balsamic and faintly fruity, projecting for several arm-length hours and lingering on fabric as a soot-sweet glaze best suited to cool evenings under wool or leather.
