By the editors · 2 min readThe EDP of L'Eau d'Issey strips away the original EDT's famous aquatic-ozonic opening and replaces it with something warmer and more floral from the first moment. Freesia and rose arrive fresh and slightly dewy; lily and osmanthus in the heart — osmanthus with its distinctive apricot-tea quality — give the fragrance a warmer, softer character than the original's cool minerality. Sandalwood and Virginia cedar in the base are dry and restrained, supporting without dominating. A more accessible, conventionally feminine interpretation of the L'Eau d'Issey accord — less architectural, more immediately wearable.
