Weighted by intensity across 5 accords.

Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readThe original Amour's rice-steam softness here gives way to something darker and more resinous. Frankincense opens with a church-like solemnity, not billowing smoke but the cool stone scent of incense just lit, joined by patchouli that's earthy rather than sweet. This is the minimalist take on oriental perfumery—restrained, almost architectural in its construction.

As it settles, benzoin and vanilla arrive to warm the austere opening, but they don't flood the composition. The amber remains translucent, more glow than weight. The overall effect is contemplative, a little austere even with the gourmand base.

This suits someone drawn to incense fragrances but wary of the headshop or high-church extremes. It wears closer to the skin than its name might suggest, creating a cocoon rather than broadcasting. Best in cooler weather when its quiet intensity can unfold without competition.
