By the editors · 2 min readSmoke opens dense and tarry, immediately coating the air with a burnt-leather edge that feels singed rather than polished. Leather and rose arrive together in the heart, the bloom adding a bruised-petal dampness that keeps the hide from drying out; instead it stays supple and faintly bloody, still exhaling the ashy top. Vetiver threads through the late heart, sharpening the leather with green root bite while ambergris begins to glow beneath, lending salt-brushed warmth that lifts the composition off skin. The dry-down settles into a mineral-ambergris husk where vetiver’s smoke is quieter, letting the marine-sweet tincture dominate while a ghost of rose lingers like lipstick on a glass rim. Projection stays within arm’s length for six hours, then hugs skin; best after dark, cool weather, leather jackets and concrete bars.
