By the editors · 2 min readSmoke opens dense and acrid, the first wave carrying singed wood and scorched rubber that clings to the throat. Leather muscles in quickly, its tar-black hide streaked with cooling embers, while a dry rose adds only a bruised-purple suggestion of petals, more tannic than floral. Mid-stage sees the smoke turn oily, merging with the leather into a single tarry accord that sits low on skin, the rose having retreated to a ghost outline. Ambergris arrives late, lending a briny, almost marine lift that keeps the composition from turning flatly ashy, and vetiver threads a green-mineral snap through the embered base, stretching wear into the next morning. Projection stays within arm’s length; best after dark, cool evenings, leather jackets, underground clubs.
