The first ten minutes read like the open-air market of a Mediterranean port, which is roughly the brief.
The heart simplifies — nutmeg, coriander and a quiet jasmine bring a faint warmth — and from there the composition slides into a classical woody base of vetiver, cedar, oakmoss, guaiac and sandalwood. The drydown is the conventional part of an unconventionally crowded opening: dry, slightly bitter, recognizably barbershop. Best in warm weather where the herbs can air out and stretch.
