Weighted by intensity across 6 accords.

Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readA citrus-vetiver flanker that strips away the original Encre Noire's brooding darkness in favor of brightness and movement. Grapefruit and bergamot open sharply, their acidity cutting through the vetiver's earthy backbone rather than drowning in it. The nutmeg threads through top and heart, adding a peppered warmth that keeps the composition from turning too clean.

Lavender arrives in the heart with an herbal crispness, more field than barbershop, while the vetiver remains present but restrained—grassy rather than volcanic. The musk in the base is soft and skin-close, anchoring without weight. This reads as an athletic interpretation of the Encre Noire DNA: the same raw materials rendered legible for warmer weather and higher activity.

Suited to those who found the original too intense or suffocating. It maintains a recognizable relationship to its parent while functioning as something more approachable, a vetiver scent that won't commandeer a room.
