By the editors · 2 min readLeather dominates from the first spray, thick and tarry thanks to labdanum's resinous pull while saffron threads a dry, medicinal sparkle through the hide. Birch soon arrives, adding a creosote-smoke edge that makes the leather feel freshly tanned rather than vintage, and patchouli darkens the heart with cocoa-brown earth that keeps the accord matte. In the dry-down the same leather returns, now polished by benzoin's honeyed amber and deepened by oud's sour, barn-wood tang; the result is a seamless black chord that smells like saddle soap smeared on smouldering logs. Projection stays within arm's length for eight hours, growing drier and more tobacco-like as skin heat loosens the resin. Cool autumn nights and outdoor evening events are its natural habitat.
