With only a flat note list, the composition reads less like a stepped pyramid and more like a single sustained chord.
The scent fingerprint
Weighted by intensity across 13 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readWith only a flat note list, the composition reads less like a stepped pyramid and more like a single sustained chord. Lemon, lime and petitgrain provide a citrus-aromatic brightness that flickers through the early wear.
Leather sits at the centre of everything. The leather is the cuir-de-russie style — birch-driven, slightly smoky, restrained in its animal aspect. Violet, ylang-ylang and oakmoss soften the edges, with the violet contributing a powdery floral lift and the oakmoss anchoring it in chypre territory.
Sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli close the composition out with earth and resin. The drydown is dry, slightly mossy, classical. Overall the arc is a quiet, well-mannered leather chypre with vintage French sensibility.
