By the editors · 2 min readBlack pepper snaps open, its dry heat crackling against bergamot’s brief citrus spark before cardamom’s cool green bite slides in. The spices fold into labdanum’s sticky amber, creating a leathery resin that grips the skin within minutes. Iris arrives next, powdery and cool, sanding the rough edges and turning the accord into something like suede brushed with talc. Saffron threads a medicinal, hay-like sweetness through the heart, while cedar adds splintery wood that keeps the iris from turning plush. The base is dominated by suede: soft, matte, faintly oily, it stretches the leathery theme for hours, losing the spices but keeping a quiet skin-bound musk. Projection stays close, a scented leather glove for cool fall days or a dark blazer collar.
