By the editors · 2 min readSaffron and nutmeg open dry and warm-spicy, with heliotrope adding an almond-cherry powderiness and lily of the valley a clean dewy lift. The opening is unusual — spice and powder simultaneously, neither dominant.
The heart turns lush. Jasmine and ylang-ylang stack creamy, indolic white-floralcy with a banana-warm tilt from the ylang. The composition gets noticeably heavier through this phase, with the saffron continuing to thread leather-spice underneath.
The base is where it lands: leather pairs with iris and sandalwood, the iris cool and rooty, leather smooth and slightly animalic, sandalwood creamy. Overall character is a saffron-floral with a leather-iris drydown, retro in mood, dense and slightly moody — datura-like in its narcotic floral-and-shadow register.
