The scent fingerprint
Weighted by intensity across 11 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readRain is the most atmospheric entry in Marc Jacobs' Splash series, built on the sensory impression of a rainstorm rather than any conventional aquatic formula. Green grass and cypress register immediately as freshly wet vegetation, clementine brightening the accord and wild strawberry adding a brief sweet note beneath. The heart develops through sunflower, passion flower, and white orchid — warm florals with a slightly aqueous, sun-on-wet-earth quality.
Amber and teak wood ground the base in dry warmth, balanced by a veil of moss. The composition wears quietly, with intimate projection and a naturalistic character. It suits spring or autumn wear in cool or overcast conditions — unremarkable in the best sense of that word.
