By the editors · 2 min readInvasion Barbare opens with violet leaf's characteristic cool, watery greenness — an understated entry for something with such a dramatic name. Grapefruit and bergamot provide brightness alongside it. The heart is where the composition justifies its name: ginger, lavender, thyme, and cardamom together in a warm aromatic spiced accord that builds slowly and reads both herbal and oriental simultaneously.

Vanilla and patchouli in the base provide warmth and depth, the vanilla creamy rather than sweet, patchouli adding earthy texture. What results is a sophisticated, layered masculine — the green opening, aromatic spiced heart, and dark base forming a coherent arc. MDCI's attention to structure is evident throughout; this doesn't wear as a simple linear fragrance.
