By the editors · 2 min readLemon and grapefruit open with clean citrus brightness — refreshing and predictably brief. Lavender, raspberry, and anise enter the heart as a trio with some tension: lavender herbal and slightly medicinal, raspberry sweet and fruity, anise sharp and licorice-like. The combination is aromatic-fougère with a sweet fruit layer.
Tonka bean, cumin, and heliotrope close the composition. Cumin adds a warm, slightly savory spice to the drydown — earthy without being animalic. Heliotrope brings a cherry-almond sweetness that softens the cumin. Tonka bean extends the sweetness further.
This follows a classic fougère arc but with distinctive mid-notes. The anise-lavender-raspberry combination is unusual and gives the composition its personality. Slightly masculine in bearing, best in moderate weather.
