By the editors · 2 min readSaffron and leather announce themselves immediately — dry, metallic, and animalic, with the leather carrying real weight from the first spray. The saffron keeps things from turning purely rugged, adding a warm medicinal edge.
Rose emerges in the heart, softened by sandalwood and vetiver's earthy rootedness. Patchouli darkens the composition, nudging it toward something damp and almost fungal beneath the florals. It never turns sweet.
Labdanum and oakmoss anchor the dry-down in resinous, mossy depth. Ambergris adds a marine-mineral warmth rather than sweetness. The result is a dense, serious leather-resin construction with smoky undertones that read as deliberately austere.
