Cinnamon and mint together in the opening are both unusual and instantly appealing — warm winter spice and cool freshness simultaneously, bridged by bergamot and the herbal sharpness of rosemary and lavender.

By the editors · 2 min readCinnamon and mint together in the opening are both unusual and instantly appealing — warm winter spice and cool freshness simultaneously, bridged by bergamot and the herbal sharpness of rosemary and lavender. Jasmine, orange blossom, and violet arrive in the heart in a softer accord than the spiced opening suggests, the violet keeping things from tipping sweet. The base is the real richness: raspberry giving an unexpected fruity depth amid tonka, sandalwood, oakmoss, and patchouli, vanilla and amber rounding the whole thing. A substantial 2000s masculine that aged better than most of its contemporaries because the opening has genuine character.
