By the editors · 2 min readThe 2011 limited edition strips Alien down to jasmine and amber, removing the wood that anchors the original. What emerges is warmer and more transparent—jasmine rendered in golden resin rather than violet shadows. The flower arrives clean but never shrill, its indolic facets held in check by honeyed amber that thickens as it dries.
On skin, the composition stays close and linear, more of a jasmine soliflore with amber backing than a true reformulation of the Alien structure. The expected woody heft never materializes. This makes it easier to wear in heat but less distinctive than its parent—pleasant rather than confrontational, approachable where Alien demands your attention. Best for those who found the original too heavy or too dark but still want that jasmine-forward signature.
