By the editors · 2 min readSaffron and galbanum open in a striking pairing — saffron's metallic-leathery warmth against galbanum's sharp green resin. The contrast is immediate and a little disorienting, neither note softening the other.
Ylang-ylang carries the heart alone, creamy and slightly banana-tinged, providing the only true floral voice in an otherwise architectural composition. It softens the saffron's edge but doesn't tame it.
The base resolves into labdanum, styrax, and musk — labdanum giving a leathery-balsamic resin, styrax adding a smoky cinnamon-tinged warmth, musk smoothing into skin. The whole composition reads dark, dry, and quietly avant-garde rather than comforting. Overall character is a smoky leathery-resin with green-saffron sharpness up top, projecting strongly and tilted firmly toward cold-weather evening wear.
