By the editors · 2 min readCuir Cuba Intense opens with a bracing jolt of mint and anise that feels both medicinal and aromatic, like stepping into an apothecary where leather jackets hang on cedarwood racks. The contrast is immediate: cool herbal brightness against something darker waiting beneath. As it settles, the leather emerges not as smooth calfskin but as rough suede dusted with tobacco leaf, warmed by cumin's slightly sweaty, human quality. Lavender adds a barbershop formality, while ylang-ylang lends an unexpected tropical sweetness that keeps the composition from turning austere.

The drydown reveals its vintage inspiration—animalic civet and earthy patchouli anchor the tobacco and cedar into something unapologetically old-school. This is leather perfumery before it became polite: bold, a touch confrontational, with a masculine swagger that doesn't apologize for itself. Best suited to those who appreciate fragrances with backbone and a certain retro confidence.
